There seems to be a growing number of companies phoning people to tell them of problems with the PC and offering to fix for a small fee…

Think about this, a total stranger wanting access to your computer, and bank account or credit card details, would you give them out normally? If you are ever in doubt then hang up, if you think there may be a problem with your computer then take it to a local shop, or ask them if they do home visits.

Apparently over 200,000 people in the UK have fallen for these tricks, some of the companies performing the scams even claim to be Microsoft.

Apple iPad Sales may reach 34 million

Apple iPad sales could reach 34 million units worldwide this year, according to eMarketer, the electronics brand will make up 78 per cent of the global tablet market in 2011.

It forecasts overall sales of this type of gadget, which could also include the Samsung Galaxy Tab, to reach 43.6 million units this year – and this would more than double the number of tablets sold in 2010.

Last year saw the iPad – which has an array of features, including Wi-Fi and provides users with the ability to watch videos, listen to music and view photos – make up 85 per cent of the total tablet sales around the world, while this figure is predicted to be 69 per cent in 2012.

Other features of the device include its 9.7-inch LED touchscreen, which has a multi-touch display, as well as 32GB Flash Drive memory.

Local repair prices update

In an effort to help out the local economy during these times we have introduced a couple of special price options to local customers. Between now and the end of the year the fixed price repair charge for labour on items brought into the shop will be just £34.99 and we have introduced a special call-out charge of just £29.99 for home users within a five mile radius of Melton whose PC’s we fix within 30 minutes on site.

I know it is long overdue but finally a new-look website is here for F1 Services, as usual we are still struggling with finding a way to make it as easy as possible for you to find details on all the great services we offer but hopefully the new ‘drop-down’ navigation works for you.
